Tasmanian Banking Services is a 50/50 joint venture between Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees Limited and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Limited.
Bendigo Bank is one of Australia's oldest financial institutions, established in 1858 as a building society and converting to a bank in 1995. The only regionally based bank in Australia, Bendigo has more than $12 billion in assets under management and 44,000 shareholders.
In 1998 Bendigo Bank developed Community Banking and today more than 170,000 Australians bank with one of the 200 plus Community Bank® branches of Bendigo Bank throughout Australia (including two in Tasmania located at Geeveston and Dover).
Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees Limited is the result of the merger of two leading Tasmanian companies. These two companies, Tasmanian Trustees and Perpetual Trustees Tasmania, have long and impressive records of success. In addition to trustee services, Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees are able to source a wide range of expertise across areas such as Managed Investments, Lending and Financial Planning and have seven branches throughout the State which offer a broad range of service/product options and the security that comes from having assets worth more than $1 billion under management.
Tasmanian Banking Services commenced on 1st July 2000 as a new local player in the Tasmanian banking scene and has grown to 6 branches and 1 agency
In only three years Tasmanian Banking Services has grown to a size where it is accepted by Tasmanians as a genuine, viable alternative financial institution.
