This category is open to successful businesses that have commenced operations in the last 3 years or less. The judges will be looking for emerging businesses that have a unique competitive advantage that ensures they are sustainable in the medium to long term from a base in Launceston.

This award is open to hospitality operators with up 15 full time equivalent employees and recognises the special contribution that the small business sector makes to Launceston and the region’s tourism industry. The judges will be pay particular attention to how you manage to achieve all-round business excellence as a small hospitality business.
This award is open to tourism and hospitality businesses that can demonstrate their commitment in consistently delivering an exceptional visitor experience which allows them to stand out from their competitors.

This category is open to sporting clubs, arts groups, festivals, cultural and community events and organisations / businesses / associations that positively impact on and generate outcomes that have long term benefits for the cultural community of the Northern Tasmanian Region.

This award recognises businesses and organisations that have made a strong commitment to environmental improvement as part of their day to day operations. The judges will be looking for clear evidence or quantification of the benefits of making environmental improvement a priority.

The category is open to Northern Tasmanian businesses who have achieved commercial success through innovative and progressive manufacturing capabilities. Entrants should be able to demonstrate why this traditionally important sector for the region remains leading edge in domestic and/or overseas markets.

Business Mentoring and Renewal
Sponsor - UTAS Faculty of Business
This new category is aimed at businesses offering clear and progressive strategies linking to young people. These may include: pathways; commitment; and renewal and aim to grow capacity of the region though sustained succession.

Business Hall of Fame Inductee - this category is not open for entry. The inductee will be chosen by the Launceston Chamber of Commerce Board and will not necessarily be awarded.
CGU Business of the Year

CGU Business of the Year Award – this category is not open for entry. The winner of this award will be selected by the Launceston Chamber Board.
