Increased Jetstar Services Receive a Warm Welcome
The Launceston Chamber of Commerce has welcomed today’s announcement by Jetstar of additional services into Launceston from Melbourne and Sydney commencing December 10. Executive Officer Lou Clark said ‘Jetstar’s investment in future growth for Launceston and Northern Tasmanian tourism is a boost for local businesses and the local economy.'
'The additional services will increase capacity into Launceston and the region which is also great news for both leisure and business flyers as it will provide greater choice, flexibility and frequency.'
‘Jetstar are to be congratulated on their vision and commitment to Tasmania and the North in particular. This is just another way Jetstar is trying hard to work side by side with the Launceston Airport and Tourism Tasmania to provide not just affordable and high quality air travel, but frequency of services.’
Ms Clark added, ‘In a regional community such as ours the flow on effect to the local economy of these additional flights each week will be enormous and the business community certainly recognizes the benefits that this announcement will bring to the local economy.’
